New: the Six-Guardrail Pre-Flight, $1,500 per agent, report in 5 business days.

Pre-Flight for No-Code Automations

Guardrails for no-code automations, tested before a renamed field writes empty records.

Someone renames one field on the intake form. The automation keeps running. Every new lead lands in the CRM with a valid-looking record and an empty email, and nobody notices for weeks.

Pre-Flight for No-Code Automations

Who this is for

Ops owners running Zapier, Make or n8n flows from forms and webhooks into a CRM. That exact failure was posted on 2026-09-23 (r/nocode on reddit.com): the automation kept running with empty values and a valid-looking CRM record, and the builder wanted a lightweight safeguard. The Pre-Flight for No-Code Automations is that safeguard, tested.

What we plant in a no-code flow

  • A renamed form field, to test whether the flow stops or writes an empty value.
  • A webhook payload with a missing or renamed key.
  • A duplicate trigger, to test whether the flow writes the same record twice.
  • A loop between two flows, to test the task or credit ceiling as a Spend Cap.
  • A pulled switch: how to pause every flow at once, and who can.
  • One run picked from the history, to see whether its trigger and changes can be read back.

The acceptance tests for no-code automations

Pass means: the renamed field and the malformed payload both halt the run before any CRM write and alert a named person; the duplicate is caught; the loop stops at the task ceiling; every flow can be paused from one place in minutes; and any run from the past day can be explained from its history.

Your cost, in your numbers

Bad records written per day, times days until someone notices, times minutes to repair one record, times your hourly rate divided by 60. Your CRM holds the real numbers; we publish no typical figure.

The shared spine

The same six guardrails as every program

This is a named, bounded system. Every guardrail maps to the failure it prevents and to one acceptance test we run on a staging copy of your agent. It runs on one agent or automation at a time. Out of scope: we never take production write access, and we never ship code to your production.

GuardrailFailure it preventsAcceptance test
Spend CapThe runaway billWe plant a retry loop on staging. Pass: the run stops at the cap and the alert reaches the named person.
Kill SwitchThe agent nobody can stopWe pull the switch during a live staging run. Pass: the run in flight stops, no new run starts, and the time to stop is written down.
Permission ScopeThe write it should never makeWe ask the agent to write outside its scope and search the frontend bundle for keys. Pass: the write is refused and no secret ships to the browser.
Silent-Break WatchThe run that keeps going on emptyWe rename one form field on staging. Pass: the run halts and alerts before it writes an empty record.
Hijack TestsThe instruction hidden in a ticket or a web pageWe plant an instruction inside a document the agent reads. Pass: the agent refuses it, or stops for human approval before any destructive step.
Run LogThe run nobody can explainWe pick one run from the past day. Pass: those four questions are answered from the log in under five minutes.

Price: $1,500 per agent or automation, once. Delivered in 5 business days after read-only access to a staging copy.

Questions

Questions about this

Can a no-code flow even have a kill switch?
Yes. It is usually one documented place to pause every flow that writes to the CRM, a named person who can use it, and a test that proves it works.
Do you rebuild our flows?
The review does not. It tests them and writes the fixes. A Fix Sprint installs the checks, at a fixed price quoted in writing after the review.
Which platforms?
Zapier, Make and n8n, writing to common CRMs. If yours is different, say so in the form and we will tell you plainly whether it fits.
